Anselme Long
is an Asheville native, currently living and working in North Carolina. Growing up in artist studios as a son of painter Benjamin F. Long IV, Anselme has been inspired to study traditional painting since childhood. In his late teens he began studying under his father and Asheville artists Christopher Holt, Caleb Clark, John Dempsey, and John Mac Kah.
Upon graduating from UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in Art History, he joined Christopher Holt’s fresco team for the 2019 Haywood Street fresco project as an apprentice turned assistant. Since then he has split time between his studio in Asheville and Tuscany. He works and studies in traditional methods and mediums in the pursuit of realism.
